Long hours, stiff competition, rigorous commute, irregular eating habits, deskbound jobs and bad sitting postures, all combine to create a pool of highly stressed, inefficient and thus despairing workforce. Busy professionals have a lot of demands on their time and allocating time for any kind of exercise just doesn’t factor. The life story of most of us is often a summation of a demanding job, crazy timings and a sedentary lifestyle. And keeping that in mind, on the occasion of International Yoga Day, we organised Chair Yoga for our employees.
Two Yoga professionals from Yoga, Peace & Smile came to our office to conduct an hour-long yoga session for all the employees at MobiKwik. The focus was on asanas that can be easily practiced during office hours on daily basis. Yoga is the only form of exercise known to increase flexibility, strength, balance, concentration and breath capacity while reducing stress and anxiety. Yoga also helps boost morale and interpersonal communication. The asanas included were Bharadwaj asana for spine relaxation and flexibility, body twists for internal organs and back pain, Tada asana for full body stretch. Apart from the asanas, they also conducted stress relief session which included going back to childhood and making funny sounds while focusing on breathing.
