On the eve of 26th Jan 2011 Republic day, mobikwik.com has moved on to a new home.
Our earlier hosting with Linode.com was giving us plenty of capacity problems owing to increased traffic and multiple interactive channels like Voice, SMS and Mobile Application. We did not have any better package to upgrade to at Linode.com.
So, we have now moved to a relatively unknown ( at least in English speaking world) host in Germany with plenty of capacity to spare. Alongside, we have upgraded the whole suite of open source software which powers mobikwik.com. All in all, this is a move which should keep us going smoothly for at least a 10x spike in traffic, something we hope to achieve very soon.
The migration in itself was smooth, with plenty of advance preparation lending itself to a very short downtime during the wee hours of the morning. So far, So good!
